2003 7.3 Performance data

I am hopeful someone can help me with this question. I am looking for stock numbers for a 1/4 mile run, or 1/8 mile run on the 7.3. I tried Road and Track but came up with nothing. I did find one for the 6.0 from a company called Motor Week, but have been unsuccessful in obtaining the 7.3. Help?

Not many people raced diesels back then, and even fewer did performance tests on stock trucks.

A bone stock 7.3L will do about a 19 second quarter mile up here at altitude. Maybe a bit less at lower elevations. That's just a rough estimate, it all depends on drive configuration, cab configuration, 4x4 launch or no, etc.

Throw in a chip and you're under 17 seconds. Mine would run 16.5's all day with just a chip, intake, and exhaust.

All I know is stock is zero-sixty is ten seconds - so is my Prius and so was my Corolla.

Way OT: I once rode a ride (Six Flags near Dallas) that went from 0-70 in less than 4 seconds using magnetic propulsion. Many years later, I still can't wipe that stupid-a55 look off my face - talk about your permagasm. I recently learned they reversed the cars since my experience - so now you "blast off" backwards. Find a safe place for your glasses, lest they look like a cartoon where the wearer zips away and the glasses hang mid-air.
