2012 OEM Rear Entertainment install

I am looking at a 2012 Expedition Limited that doesn't have the rear fold down dvd player. Does anybody know if you can install the OEM fold down dvd player in a "non rear entertainment system" expedition? Also this expedition doesn't have navigation either. Thanks

One thing to consider is the head rest DVD players, you can find both OEM and after market versions. I was going to go that route and never finished scoping it out so I can't offer any insight into how it integrates into the front system. BTW you can also find OEM nav systems on eBay that sellers will provide to you matched to your vin so they are essentially plug and play. the head units go for around 900 and you need to get a cable that will route the rear view camera into the head unit as opposed to the mirror.

Thanks for the info.. I may have to go the head rest route if this doesn't work. I have three kids so one will have to sit in the third row and I'm not sure how well they will be able to see the head rest. We had an 08 limited with the over head unit and it worked great for everyone to see the screen. I don't really need the navigation, just wondering if the non nav system will work with the dvd player.

I have thought about the head rest, but not sure how the third row is for viewing. I had an 08 with the overhead unit that worked really well for the third row. I'm not really needing the navigation just wondering if the DVD will integrate with the non navigation setup? Thanks

I have an aftermarket 13" one in my 2013 EL and that is more than enough for both rows to see.
