"rubbing" noise from brakes after new wheel/tire install

I had a friend install 18" rims with 35x12.5 tires on my new 2016 F-250 CC SWB that had 18" stock rims. They came off my 2002 Ford 7.3. There is a "creaking" noise coming out of the brake calipers when moving forward slowly with the brakes applied. This never happened with the tires/rims on my 7.3. Any thoughts on what this could be?

are you still appling some brake pressure when it starts to move forward? Slowly releasing the brakes enough for the truck to start to move does it for me.

Check the offset and make sure the inside rim isn't hitting the ball joints..

2002's had different offsets I know, or else it's unrelated and your shims in the brakes aren't installed right.

I had a bolt come loose from the caliper once on one side and it would swing around and rub the wheel when I hit the brakes. If the wheel isn't rubbing, check the brakes, or put back on your other wheels to see if it quits.

The sound is made when I slowly release the brakes while "inching" forward. If I inch forward then stop, inch forward while applying brake then stop, etc is when I hear it. It's like a "groaning" sound.

My 2012 does the same thing. I also test drove brand new trucks on the lot that did the same thing when I bought mine. I have owned my '12 since new.
