Powering up reading odometer

Ok, wonder if anyone knows how to supply power to an instrument panel such that the odometer mileage can be viewed, without having to disassemble your good vehicle and plug it in ? For instance having knowledge of the pinouts going to the actual speedo does data come back from computer, or is data stored in the actual speedo assembly ?

thks

The odometer mileage is stored on the PSOM.

You can power up the PSOM using a 9V battery. Post# 4 in this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...n-cluster.html

Ok, for my immediate need pulled apart my good unit and plugged in two of my resale units to get an odometer check, worked just fine except I broke a bracket which apparently is time to replace. One other question the 92-93 are supposedly different from 94-95. Are certain gauges simply not compatible between years ? Will the speedo interchange between these years ? In case you know.

Thks again.:-drink
