5 bolt auto hubs to manual conversion?

My truck is a 1994 F150 with automatic locking hubs, these hubs have 5 bolts holding the hub on.
I want to replace these with manual locking hubs.
Do I need a conversion kit to do this or is the conversion kit just to convert from auto hubs with 3 bolts?

Can't say for sure on your Dana 44 hubs, but the Dana 50 hubs on an 94 F250 that I have had the 5 screw auto hubs and while everyone even service at Mile Marker said that a conversion kit was required, it had the same internal nuts as was in the conversion kit that I ordered.

Pretty sure the 5-bolt have the proper spindle nuts, so you won't need the conversion.

It depends on the manufacturer of the hub. Some such as WARN require a conversion kit, others do not. I replaced my auto hubs with Superwinch hubs 18 years ago and they have performed flawlessly. Direct swap

All you need is a set of Warn (or insert your mfg of choice here) hubs for your Dana 44. Nothing else is needed.

It is literally a 10 minute job.

Thanks for the replies. I have ordered Milemarker 104 premium hubs. I will report back with how it goes.

At least some auto hubs require a different spindle nut. And that spindle nut gets in the way of some manual hubs. So swapping from autos to manuals isn't always quite that simple. It's not a lot worse, just swapping the spindle nuts, which are right behind the locking hubs, so nothing else needs to be done. But a lot of people will choose to relube the wheel bearings since they're in to that point already.

The 5 bolt auto hubs don't need the spindle nut conversion.

The 3 bolt auto hubs need the spindle nut conversion - these show up in mid-94 and later Bronco/F150's. They have the proprietary spindle nut that is held in place with a keyed washer.

Just an FYI for anyone who searches for this later.

Which conversion kit did you get? Was it still a 5 screw?

That was 7yrs ago. That guy might not be around anymore. You should probably start a new thread but if your wanting to no if you need the conversion kit for the 5 bolt you don't. I switched mine and it was a 3 bolt and it needed the conversion kit. The 5 bolt does not.
