91 F150 power windows both stopped

I got my 91 F150 last november, when i got it, both power windows and both side power locks didnt work. no groaning motors, no attempt on windows going up or down, nothing.

i live in a small town, so i wasnt worried about locking the doors, but now that the weather is getting nicer, I would like the windows to roll down. i did say i was going to swap in crank windows eventually, but who knows, these may work so nice that i wont.

so, who wants to point me in the right direction? is there a relay or something that i should test to check for an easy fix??

C'mon man, you haven't even made an attempt to check the fuses? Start at the fuse block and if that is good check for power at the driver's switch.

The PW typically has a breaker in the fuse box. Look for a silver thing that is larger than the other fuses.

Test the switches and relays first obviously, but since they didn't work when you got it, the locks and windows could have died at separate times.

If the switches are working and sending out power, it could be the motors. I had both power window motors die within 2 weeks of each other last month. No warning, just dead. That makes my third set of power window motors since new.

ACDelco 11M103 and 11m104, about $30 each.

On 1992 and newer trucks both power window and power lock circuits go to the same ground. No clue if that is the case for a 1991 and older

i tested and swapped the fuses over my lunch hour, still nothing. i'll do a little digging, if its something like a switch, i'll pony up and fix it, but if its two motors, then its crank windows, baby!

I think I could change the motors out faster and easier than replacing the regulators. According to RockAuto, the motors run around $30 each and the regulators $38 each. Not sure what your junkyard would charge. I wish I had power windows. My right arm isn't long enough to reach the window crank while driving.
