New Member showing off my 64

So I picked up a 64 F-100 off craigslist/ebay, from WV. Drove down a few weeks ago and picked her up. I have been lurking on the forums here for a while and finally found one in good shape that I pulled the trigger. I also just found a pretty good deal (I think) on a '06 P71 CV front suspension. Unfortunately the 302 and C4 that was in the truck had a few issues, and ended up costing me but I just bit the bullet and had the C4 rebuilt with a 2200 stall convertor, and then pulled the trigger on a Blueprint crate motor. Ford 306, with 390hp (from Jegs). I will hold off on the CV install until next winter, and hopefully that will give me time to figure out what I want to do in the rear. Anyway, just wanted to share a picture or two. Thanks for all the great info on this forum, it really helped so far.

Looks like you got a good one! It's probably better that you did the engine/trans right from the start. Better than messing with the old one for a year and then scrapping it. I like the black wheels and tonneau cover, it balances out the color.

That's a great looking truck, nice colour too.

Looks good! If it were my truck I would paint the bumper and grill an off-white color and drive the wheels off it!

I like what you are thinking...had the same thoughts...I like the teal color but its too much. THey even painted the dash all that color. I would like to paint the gauge bezel white or get a chrome one, and considered changing/painting the bumpers. Not sure what to do with the grill yet. White or chrome.

I personally would go with just painting white because it's probably easier on the pocketbook but chrome always looks good to. Do you have any other plans for the truck?

Too many plans, all swirling around in my head. Just pick away at things over time. It has a pine deck in the bed, which I would like to switch out to oak...I have a friend with a sawmill and lots of woodworking tools, so would like to make that myself. clean up the interior, move the gas tank out from behind the seat. Put a new rear with discs and a 4 link, that match the CV front bolt pattern, and maybe even a small C-notch. airbags would be really cool. headliner needs re-done, I really like the original material that is in there...white perforated material, hope to get that professionally re-done and keep that style.

When I swap out the front suspension, I will need to do a little repair on the bottom of the firewall in both fender wells. That bottom corner is rotted out on both sides, and someone put fiberglass over it to cover it up and painted it. So I need to get in there and cut out and weld in some new metal to stop that at some point, but I only plan to drive it when the weather is nice, so I have some time.

Lots of dreams here but all will take some time and $, but for now as soon as the motor and tranny come back in, I just want to drive it for the summer.

I just ordered the blueprint crate motor for it. Anyone have experience with them? This was the 306 that they claim comes dyno tested o deliver 390hp/370tq.

Check your in box.

So over the past few weeks, while waiting for my transmission to be rebuilt, my crate motor came. I have been working on sourcing parts, and assembling it with parts off the old motor. Cleaning up some things and fixing all kinds of little things. I ended up getting a Blueprint engine crate motor from Jegs. Freshened up 302, that they say has 390 hp. Cool thing is they dyno test each motor prior to shipping, and send you the sheet with it.

I second the white grill, bumpers and gauge bezel. Will look sharp with the teal.

Not a fan of the black wheels, but sounds like those are going anyway.

Nice truck! I say Chrome bumper and Chrome gauge bezel as you don't have any white anywhere.

I also prefer the floor mat instead of carpet. Would a Mustang floor shifter work in place of what you have now?
