Air Cleaner Outlet Tube Discontinued... any solutions?

Lucky me the tube that connects to the throttle body on my 1999 E-150 has been discontinued. They also used to only sell it as an entire assembly. I really only need the last section of it where it connects to the throttle body. I tried repairing it but the bond didn't hold up. There's a crack when disassembled but when it's positioned in the assembly the orientation and stress put on it rips open the wound into a gaping hole every time. Are there any aftermarket options for something like this? Checked eBay but couldn't find any used parts or air cleaner assemblies sectioned out. What to do?

what are the specs on your truck? what size motor? do you have a part number already?

Can you post a pic of the one you have?

is it one of these parts in the diagram?

It's the 5.4 part number F7UZ9B659BB. It's similar to part #5 in that diagram but that part is an entire assembly and I really just need the very last bit of the assembly that connects to the throttle body... also wrong engine.

Here's the pic (post silicon tape suture... which I'm not sure will hold up very long):

Someone on reddit suggested I check out http://PartMyRide.com which showed some promise and is likely where I'll head next if this makeshift patch doesn't hold up.

if you need to you might try calling these guys and see if they do have the part.

I replaced this same part on my 2000 E250, 5.4 engine, oddly enough same issues in that same area.

I'd call a local Ford parts dealer hopefully talk to someone interested in running down the superseded new part numbers. I'm sure up to and including the '04 5.4's that duct work is compatible. Also just because a part isn't shown as 100% compatible according to parts lists etc doesn't mean something newer won't work perfectly. Comparing your part to what can be found is the best way to determine fitment in the case of discontinued parts.

Yes they do make you buy the whole thing, I paid just at $108 for mine several years ago.

Sadly trying to patch the area you show doesn't work---been there, done that to absolutely no good effect. I don't know a salvage yard part would be any better although if one is available locally inspecting it before purchase would be possible.

HTH----good luck with your search!
