Hydro-Boost Re-man or OEM?

It looks like I may have lost my HydroBooster and was curious on what your thoughst are with reman systems. I'm not a fan of them but $160 vs $320.

Haven't had to replace one, but is there a 3rd option? Perhaps aftermarket brand new, not rebuilt?

If the rebuilt hydroboosts are anything like rebuilt alternators and starters, I'd go with new, even for double the money.

Those were also questions that I had in my pea size brain.

4th option, local junkyard but its not a pick and pull and they are very happy about their hefty prices. Have not called yet.

So I wanted to update this post. Every one (not here) kept telling me that I needed a new hydro boost to fix my power brakes when they test drove the truck, but I didn't buy it. It didn't have the symptoms of a bad hydro boost. Unfortunately through all this I do feel like an idiot, I had the power steering pressure line and the power brake pressure line crossed at the hydro boost. When I originally put it all back together I had it correct but the new line was leaking so bad and didn't have that snug feel when tightening it up so I though "well maybe I have the lines crossed" swapped them over no more leak and snugged up nicely but in return I had no brakes. It turned out that the line I got from the auto part store was wrong and put the new one on to no avail. When I was going through all my pictures today I notice a difference in length on the hard line going into the rubber line and realized I never swapped them back over. Now I have awesome brakes! :-X22 I was real close into changing out the hydro boost and a couple of you guys asked to do a right up with pics on it, but I'm sorry I won't be doing that. I will also update the Grinch thread.
