5.8 roller sd
 

Will a 5.8 roller cam engine work with the 89 sd system? I know the specs are close to the same but didn't know if it was enough to make the ecm not work. the computer is for the 5.8 in the 89.

Yes no problem, but be sure to use the '89 distributor and put a steel drive gear on it before installing.

Thank you! I know the sd system don't take well to changes. Just wanted to check before I did the swap.

Oh.. you may have to put the '89 lower intake on the '95 because the IAT sensor was moved to the airbox in the '90. DO NOT use any wiring from the donor vehicle.

There is a plug in the middle of the lower intake that looks to be in the right area for the sensor.

Look closely, it is probably not threaded or drilled through.
