What year F600 for gauge cluster?
I have this info at home and I tried a search but I'm on vacation on a tablet and crappy internet service. I thought I'd get a local here in Puerto Vallarta to look here for one. Thanks.

'67-'79 --although some of the later Dentside F500-up clusters do have the printed circuit board and connection like is found on the '70-'72 F100 - F350 trucks. All other F500-up clusters will have the hard wire connection like the '67-'69 F100-F350.
Most Bumpside big truck clusters will look like these. http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/...lusters006.jpg Most Dentside big truck clusters will look like this. http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/...lusters008.jpg 1979 (?) The gauge facings say 1970 on up. 69 & earlier were different (thinner needles & lettering) When I started driving trucks in 1978 we had some of these. The LN series used the same facings (different panel arrangement) such as pictured. The C series tilt cab also went to the same. 1969 & earlier were still using the 1957-60 pickup facings. A lot of memories driving these old trucks.

F600
I have a 78 F600 Looks like it. I'm trying to find a back plate and printed circuit like the one you pictured. Any suggestions?

Looks like you might not be able to use a 78 F600 cluster in a Bumpside. Starting in 1978 the F500/750 clusters did use a printed circuit board but 1969/77 F500/750 (and B series busses) did not. There was a wiring adaptor assembly that snapped in a connector from the dash harness then mounted directly to all the electrical gauges. This adaptor was Ford part number DOTZ10B942A. Green sales shows as having 10 of them. 1-800-543-4959. I looked up the fuel and oil pressure gauges as a test. Same part numbers 1973/79 F500/750. So that wire adaptor should mount to your 78 gauges as is. But if you mount the 78/1986 back plate then the wiring adaptor harness may not work. I dunno.
That back plate was part number E2TZ10848B. The 69/77 one was part number C7TZ10848F. But I see none out there N.O.S. of either one. |
