Abe, you truck is looking good! Still waiting to see it finished.

BTW, how long are the mirror arms? The car mirrors DC has convinced everyone to believe as a pickup truck part are totally worthless. Maybe I can find time tomorrow to round up some arms and mirrors while running errands.

The black part of the arms on my truck is 10". The silver part slides out to whatever length you need. I have another set that measures 13"

Update 4/17:
In the last week I got out the door windows which have been cracked for about the last 16 years. So this week I need to go to the auto glass place to cut new ones. I also have two mirror heads that need mirror glass.

The division bars need repainted. I couldn't get them out. I didn't try too hard. I decided to paint them in the door since I would probably scratch them trying to get them back in. I taped them up and will paint them gloss back. Then I thought the vent window frames need painted again. They came out easily. I taped them up. So I will be painting later this week.

I still have to put my weatherstripping on the doors now that the temperature has warmed up and I got to put the bed boards in the bed.

I was browsing through my rebuild thread the day before christmas and I realized I had not posted updates on here since April 17th. I may have posted some updates in a separate thread like for my reupholstered seat or my painted engine but I thought it might be good for posterity to put all updates here in one thread.

So here are some belated rebuild pics:
The painted bed boards:

the seat reupholstered with 1954 NOS material in the truck:

KThe freshly painted engine, block and heads red, valve covers argent and air cleaner other accessories black. I wanted to get it painted years ago but I thought just after I had it painted the engine would need a rebuild. So this summer I had a guy put a clutch in and while he was at it put in a new rear main seal as it was leaking badly and while he was at it degrease and paint the engine.... well later this summer I found out the 3rd cylinder on the left only had 25 lbs of compression. So I am buying a pair of heads from Dennis (Pinto Plumber) that were rebuilt by the same guy that rebuilt my engine back in 1979. So here are some pics:

Thanks everyone. I don't know why I let this thread go unfinished. Life and summer work got in the way I guess. Grandpa would be proud for sure!

Looks great Abe! Your Grandpa would be proud. My question on Jim and Austins Thread must have motivated you to "wrap it up" . This one done, must be time to start a new project?????? :D

Here are some pics I took tonight of the interior.
My heater which I painted 17 years ago.

A wide shot of the interior. The headliner was put in sometime after 1999. After i bought my 55 F350 i noticed that the repopped cardboard is not as nice as the original. The original has slight embossed markings in it.

My dash which was painted in the first rebuild in 1999. I painted the pedals and steering column shortly after that.

Here is a pic of the bed taken tonight.

And here are pics of my wing vents showing the hand painting i did to the division bars and vent frames. I painted them after the division bars were in because no matter how careful you are putting them in they will get scratched. I even tried taping them this time...

Well I still have to put new heads on this one. And my 55 needs little stuff like a new headboard, clean up and paint the interior, try to wash the original seat material, the vinyl side of the seat is torn . I'd like to get that fixed with new vinyl which I have left over from my 54 seat. Paint the steering column and pedals , put in some sound and heat insulation. and get it painted in 2018.

Hey Abe, I just went thru this entire thread. I never saw it before. You mentioned it in another thread about seats. Very good info and you did a great job!!
