New (to me) 2003 F150
Hello all, recently I purchased a 2003 F150 SuperCrew Lariat. It's been 8 years since I've had a truck from this generation and I'm excited to be back! The truck is in great shape, everything is clean, tranny fluid is nice and pink, no problems to speak of. I love that it has the split bench front seat, I really didn't want a center console. I replaced the factory head unit with a nice pioneer one I had in the garage.
Truck came with a new bed liner, and a tri fold tonneau cover, might take them off in exchange for some rhino liner and a cap. There's no rust on any of the front cab. There's a tiny little bit on the bottom of the bed, the chassis is in good shape, someone had coated it before. I plan to yank the bed and clean everything up, strip the old coating and make it better at some point in the future. I really like the key pad, it's handy sometimes when you are carrying things and can't reach into the pocket where you have your key, or just want to grab something quick out of the truck. The truck rides nice and is quiet, I'm happy to have a good vehicle once again. Future plans include an underdrive pulley kit, new plugs & upgraded coils and a computer tune. The details: 2003 F150 SuperCrew, 58,600 miles 5.4L FX4 Lariat interior, split bench front seat with heat & power Tow package Here's a few pictures: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...pscywh77ha.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...psg7z4zbsq.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...pshjauswhg.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...psnwtnzxvz.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...psiox0iwlm.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...psfcxpbjrn.jpg |

Nice looking truck.
Don't bother with the coils, stick with OEM, and if they are working, don't replace them. Why underdrive pulleys? No real reason on these trucks. Stick with Motorcraft plugs, no anti-seize on them and torque to 28 ft lbs (although the '03 heads should not have the spitting plug issue). |

Underdrive pulleys because I used to own a 98 4.6L 4x4 that I put an intake, throttle body, and pulleys on that would consistently get 20-22 mpg on the highway. I plan on doing some extended trips with the truck in the future and every bit of fuel mileage helps, pulleys are a cheap, and easy to install. It'll be interesting to see where I can get this truck, I'm really looking forward to getting a programmer as well. |
Keep up on leather moisturizing for front seats!

Depends on how often you are in and out and of course the environment (temps and storage). Once a month or two should work.
