will my Vin tell me what rear end gears I have?
 
is there a Web site that will tell me that?

The axle code will. At this stage of the game it's better to go off of the rear end tag though, who knows what's been swapped on trucks these old. You can also count how many turns of the pinion yoke to a full turn of the tire

You *SHOULD* have an axle tag attached to one of your rear differential bolts. On the Dana 60's they were on the left side and actually attached between two bolts. Grab a wire brush and brush away around your rear diff bolts and find the tag. Then decipher the numbers and come back inside to tell us what you found.

Looks for a tag like this...... or yes count the tire revolution and the d/s yoke turns.
