95' f-150 shifting problem
 

My 95' f-150, 300 I6, 5-speed.

The clutch petal has all of a sudden today started felling funny. When I push the clutch in it does not seem to engage untill almost all the way to the floor. The truck is hard to get into gear, and when lettin off the friction point is about an inch or two from the floor. The petal even seem to pause about 2/3 of the way out when letting off the petal, then goes all the way out. I just had a clutch put in about 20,000 miles ago. I tow a 3000lb trailer with it often (work truck), I live in Fla. and there are realy no hills so most of the driving is flat. I do a lot of stop and go.

The petal seems very slushy and soft. I can get it in gear, and it runs fine, shifts ok when traveling but does not feel normal.

I had a similar situation in a 95 truck and it was the slave cylinder. If it is the tranny has got to come back off. Hope this helps good luck getting it fixed

Also could be the springs are getting weak. This happened to me years ago. They were so weak I eventually broke the clutch fork. I never dreamed that could happen.

Definitely check out the slave cylinder as mentioned first though.

quite oftenit is just because the concentric slave is sliding along the shaft and filling with fluid, and sucking it outof the master resevoir. If the resevoir wasempty and dry, you'd have probloems. Just top er up and /or bleed it like the brakes and see if it helps. Also, you can takea look in he inspection port ih a flashlight, if soeone is able to step on the pedal and release it again, and check to make sureeverything in there is dry.
