Believe me mine is responsive, at 75mph if i press the pedal into the engine bay it picks up quick and hit somewhere over 85 mph (thats all my spedo goes to) in a matter of seconds. I still have to give a report with my travel trailer attached:-X22

This is what I am looking for... I really hope that my truck does fantastic with the upgrades during this coming camping season. It did just fine before, even towing through the Rockies, but on a 16 year old truck there is always room for improvement.

Two turbos, one is mine with spx wheel the other is going for sale locally:-X22 both with SPT parts:-X22

I see you have the collector mounted to the turbo on the bench. Is this how you put it back in the truck or did you remove the collector before mounting the turbo?

After pulling the intake out yesterday, I was surprised to see how narrow the actual intake on the turbo is. Now it makes more sense why the 38R does better.

Its doable, both turbos were out of spare engines I had laying in the shop (the yellow one e99 turbo is going into my obs in the not to far future

For this situation I would consider a 1.0 housing and/or the high flow outlet. If you only increase boost with a different compressor wheel you will also be increasing drive pressure and adding increased heat into the system which will lead you to backing off the throttle when the EGT's climb too high. Unloaded is a different story.

It all comes down to tunning, I dont think an aftermarket wheel can cause higher egts, unless your running a pretty agressive tune with no supporting mods:-X22

Sous, which upgrades are you planning? Are you running stock tuning or a chip?

Z32Freakify, I have no idea how you do this crap all the time. I spent half my day sitting the engine bay of my truck.

I am sure it will be worth it once I get done, but this is going to take days for sure because of how OCD I am about these things. I guess that is a good thing as long as I have the time.

Pics and an update in the thread below.

After taking so many of them apart you learn tricks that make it easy, try taking an obs turbo off, you'll have your hands full for a at least 10hrs. A SD turbo are the easiest to take off I can remove one in less than 10min, and install everything from up pipes, pedestal turbo and everything in 1.5 hrs:-X22
