Urgent!!! 95 f350 TPS?

Hi,
New to this forum but hoping one of you can help me.

I live in Florida and just bought a 95 cclb powerstroke in San antonio tx

The truck idles perfect and smooth and truck fires right up. Also it will revs without a hiccup. But I noticed that the Rpms would drop and pick back up right away when trying to hold it at a constant rpm(any rpm) but just once in awhile. However it's started to do it more frequently in the past hour and it's starting to worry me.

I did use the search function and researched for quite awhile and read about the cps sensor going bad. And I thought that might be it. But it doesn't do it with the cruise control set. I drove over an hour with cruise control on and came into traffic and shut off cruise control and it immediately started acting up again.

Now I'm sitting in an oreilleys parking lot in Texas wondering what might be the problem

Any help so I can get back on the road would be appreciated
Also it has the same symptoms in park if I try to hold it at a constant rpm

You may have some luck with contact cleaner , other than that you will need a new one .

Its the larger of the two switches . This may be a picture of the 99 & up

Alright new problem now. I went just came out of the oreilleys and the trucks been off for maybe 30 min.

I fired it up and it sounded horrible and then died. It immediately fired right back up and the check engine light came on and it's currently running like crap. If I rev it up it idles up really choppy sounding. And if I put it in drive it idles down and dies.

I would read the code but have no way to pull it, given that the cheap obd2 readers don't read these trucks

You are going to need to find a scanner that can read codes stored in the IDM . Post your location there may be a member near by that can help

I'm in between Baytown and highlands, tx. I just replaced the cps with the only one I could get. A black one from oreilleys and then I started it and it's still running roughy and loping now

If you have an Android phone or tablet, then you can interface with your truck for $17.
