Glow plug relay question?
 

I installed the Stancor relay the other day. I had a print out that showed the wire orientation. Does the orientation of the two small wires make a difference for the operation? Both my small wires were red, diagram had a red and orange? Seems I am still getting some smoke on start up but wanted to see if those two wires changed the function. Glow plugs tested good when I checked them awhile back, and just had batteries and alternator checked and all was good.

Neither circuit in the relay is polarized, so as long as you have one small wire on each small terminal, you're good to go.

Look closer, you might notice that one of those small wires is red with a green stripe. That's the one that comes from fuse #22 in the underhood fuse box

the stancor is not externally grounded. the two small wires are positive and negative. since the relay is not a grounded case, it does not matter what terminal the wires go to as long as both are connected.

the funny thing about it Rick, is most people do not realize that. they think a GPR is body grounded just like a starter relay or old solenoid is.
that is why i usually make that post when people talk about GPR's
