Start, idle pull into road and almost got killed

Not sure how to change threads, but thusfar.

1992 straight 6 auto. one whwwl drive.

Starts ez, idles like bla bla blub.

imperceptible miss only my dog can hear.

ready to go? hit the gas at the end of the driveway and kaPOOF.

pukes gas cloud the size of my house.

Rev it to save my life and it clears up after 20 seconds.

Ran ALL day. stop and go, NO hint of errant behavior other that almost getting killed pulling out of driveway.

Thinking some sort of cold start 'enrichment' circuit as done too many drugs....stabil, seafoam, etc etc.

also came to my senses and realized that it run PERfectly when warn....
pukingly death defyingly pull into traffic and get killed, simply wrong.

I now let it run for 20 minutes, stinks like unburned gas, sets off the smoke alarms on the porch and then it's safe to go on the road.

runs and idles perfect.

10 or 11 mpg for a straight 6?

I just love opening the hood and siing the ground.

straight 6 torque is a classic.

Too bad there isn't any way to get more than 10mpg.

Thanks for reading and please feel free to laugh or giggle at my
ineptitude and misfortune.

EDIT: why did you change threads?

Wasn't sure what you meant by that but now I see you have another thread for the same topic: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ve-miss-2.html

I replied in that thread instead, now that I know more of the story. Don't start a new thread for the same problem in the middle of troubleshooting it, it's harder to keep all the facts together.
