FAQ's
On the lighter side, I prepared this FAQ list for the board...
There are no 2WD Broncos. Don't ask. A 4 door Bronco is called a Centurion. It was a conversion. Yes. Get manual hubs. Grease the slip joint on your driveshaft if it clunks. If your A/C defaults to the defrost vents, you have a vacuum problem. If your rear window needs help going up, it probably needs a new motor. If your check engine light comes on, go here: http://www.broncodata.com/tech/codes.htm You CAN put 33's on a stock Bronco, but they will rub. If your ABS light comes on, good luck. I'm sure that you all will think of loads more of these. |
FAQ's
1. NO, TBS's, Tornados, and Gas Additives do NOT add any significant horse power, and actually have the potential to do harm.
2. K&N products do NOT add "20-25" horsepower. They do, however, help your intake breathe, which MAY provide a slight increase in throttle response. 3. There is NO "kingofthehillendalldoallbestoneinthewholewideworl d" lift kit. Find one that fits your needs. There are a few that people recommend against. Search. 4. Yes you can fit 35's on a 4" lift. They will rub without modification of some sort. 5. Bigger Tires? Regear. Yes, it's been done with stock gears. Do yourself a favor, regear. 6. More horsepower? Intake and Exhaust, first and foremost. 7. Pings? Try higher octance gas. Good bit of advice; octane requirements rise in direct correlation to outside temperature. Over 90 degrees? Use higher octane. (Not always, obviously, just a good rule of thumb) 8. Which headers/mufflers/exhaust? If you're looking mainly for tone/sound quality, Flowmasters rock, but no two trucks will sound the same, so pick one and hope for the best. Performance-wise, search... it's been done. 9. Tires? Goodyear MTR's or BFG MT's. (Not the ONLY choices, but definitely a place to start) 10. Water is wet, the sky is blue, rear mains leak. Unless you're dumping massive amounts of crude on your driveway, leave it. Just check the oil more often. 11. Door locks? They break. Check for voltage to the switch, and to the actuator. It will more than likely be fine. Replace the actuator. ($20 aftermarket) 12. Suspension Lift > Body Lift 13. Search, search, search, search, search. IF you don't find anything, try fewer words and search again. |
FAQ's
YES, ALL Broncos have removable tops...Centurions included.
(Bronco II's don't count). Rear exiting the exhaust (duals or otherwise) is a BAD idea. The arguement over solid axle conversions will NEVER be settled. Just the first three I could think of that I didn't think had been mentioned yet. |

Search, that takes out all the fun:p

If someone told you your top would leak if you ever took it off, punch them in the nose and take the top off anyway. Because they are blithering idiots and stupidity should be painful!

Another important one:
All Bronco's have a drinking problem - expect to get in the 10 - 14 MPG range. Any more, & you're just plain lucky. Casper |
FAQ's
Here's another: all Broncos are or will become rust buckets. Expect to deal with it sooner or later!
