Trying to decide on an OFFSET & new Rim style

Hey everyone,

Iam currently running a mild Lift on my 2006 F250, it's a Pro-Comp #62667K (2.5 front / 2.0 rear) with a set of XD 18x9 +18 offset Rim'z
& I think they look great BUT....

Short story is I got new Tires on my car & while I was there picking it up they informed me of the Free lifetime rotations, etc & I knew my Truck tires needed to be rotated so I had them do it, next thing I know the Mgr says they had sold me the incorrect Load Rated Tires a couple years ago & offered to buy my Tires back @ a very fair price.

I have had BFG A/T TA KO's on many Trucks for years & love them so considering the new KO2's are out now that's what I went with. Long story short I was in a total of 5 times before we got a "good" set of Tires that balanced out & now as u can imagine my Rim'z have paid the price (scratches & lip damage) they said they would have a fella refinish them but Iam not into that, so now they are going to give me a Big Discount on new Rim'z.

Here's where I have a question....

I will be keeping an 18x9 wheel but the +18 offset is posing an issue as every Rim I really like isn't made in it or they can't get their hands on it for many weeks. Plus they (unnamed chain Store) as well as some of my friends tell me to "push" the Rim's outta the Truck a bit since it's lifted (only mildly though I keep saying).
Apparently I need to choose between a +01 or -12 now :-huh

Iam not saying it won't probably look great w/a slightly wider stance BUT I will also need Fender Flares @ that point which I don't really want to purchase due to the high cost (again probably look sweet).

Iam hoping someone here has a setup like mine & has Pics/guidance on what I should go with.
I am also uploading some Pic's to help explain :-wink

Again she has a 2.5/2.0 Lift & 18x9 wheels w/a +18 offset
Riding on new 325/65/18 (34.63 x 12.8) BFG's :oval

Personally, I'd opt for the "happy medium" with the smallest possible flares, that's just my personal opinion though.
Here's a 20 x 10 -19 offset:

I'm not running any flares, if I go that route, I'll get the Bushwacker "Extenda Flare" to retain as close to factory look as possible.

King-bRanch 07-12-2015 01:34 PM

Thanks Mitch,
Your truck looks great, I know it's a newer body style but that helps :-drink

I too would be getting Bushwacker, either the OE Style (1.5 inch) or the Extend-A-Fender (2.0 inch) &
honestly I don't really want one bigger than the 1.5 inch as it has OE styling still.

With yours being -19 maybe my -12 wouldn't be as bad as I think :-huh
I like the idea of a happy medium, hopefully the Fuel Throttle +01 will be available quickly :-X16

Mitch has a good point, small flares & keep it all nice n neat
sorry I cant be more help, I need to study it more

Not sure if I missed it or not......
But what does your lift manufacture say to use.

My lift by Fabtech states that I should use a 4.5" Offset with 37's.

honestly if it was my truck (and I MIGHT do a mild lift) I would keep the tyres with in the confines of the truck (no wider then the widest point of the body its self/fender flairs if any) and that would be sufficent to me...

RigTrash601 07-12-2015 05:29 PM

Thanks Warren. I forgot to mention my wheels have a 4.5" back spacing.

I say keep it like it is. Functional and aesethically pleasing. :-X22

I'm running a similar thread over on the Excursion side, honestly your truck looks great with what you have on...my tires stick out a little more than my liking...

Warren are you looking for a more aggressive look? I like aggressive personally so if it were me and especially since you have your steel bumpers i would go with the -12mm and get some PTM pocket flares from prestige they run much cheaper than bushwacker and look identical that's what i did. mine are -12mm but its an 04 so they stick out slightly more than yours would and they are just a tad past my flares.

EDIT: oh BTW i love those Fuel Vapor's i would pic those...but again that's just me lol

i like it when the tires stick out just past the factory fenders.
i also like the fuel vapor wheels you have pictured above.

I just ordered pro comps helldorado 18x9 0mm with 295/70/18. I'll let you know if I'm happy with then next week.

Paid $157 a wheel from 4wheel parts.

Thanks for all the responses so Fast everyone,
I have good news (in my mind anyway) the Mgr called me & those Fuel Throttle's in a +01 are available :D

I told him to get em coming since I've already had 2 let-downs on Wheel's I had wanted. Lot's of people keep telling me to push em out a little & I was just not comfortable w/the -12 (which is a 30 mm difference from my +18's) so I figured I'd get the happy medium & hopefully be happy ;)

These babies are on the way, installing this Friday :-jammin
