My buddy Bill has had his truck at a local "shop" for two years.......the guy still hasn't touched it. So a few of us went over with a trailer today and rescued it.
Bill's in his mid 70's and not in the best of health, and wants to drive his truck again before it's too late. So I volunteered to try to get it running again.

This is a sweet truck. I've tried to buy it from him several times, but no dice. His dad bought it new from the local ford dealer.

Here's some pics......

And here's a couple of the truck that towed it over.................thought you guys might like it.
My buddy Mel's 5/8 scale Peterbilt. Has a 6.9 diesel and both rears are drivers. It's a work of art/labor of love. Flat AWESOME!
He also has a matching lowboy trailer for it!

I agree, STRONG work Sir. I would like to see a video of his face on the "first" new drive!

What's wrong with the 56? Wish I lived closer I'd give you a hand.

It hasn't run right for years. He's had several guys work on it, but they couldn't figure it out.
He wants me to swap in a Chevy 350 he has.....I'm trying to talk him out of that. Gonna see whats up with the Y block first.

You're a great man Scott!
Keeps us informed of how this is going. I'm confident you can get the Y block running smooth.
I wish we could all run over there and have a work day.

Find out what kind of hasn't run right in years problem it has. Perhaps it has way more carburetor and coil than it needs. Very commendable on your part.

The whole truck is fabbed from other parts.....1 ton chassis, Jeep Pu cab, hand made hood, sleeper was cut apart and sized down, etc. A ton of work went in to building it.

I also want to thank everyone for your support and offers to help! It is much appreciated. :) I will keep you updated.
