06 F350 A/C issue

I have searched the A/C forum and haven't found any references to my problem, so here goes. A/C takes a long time to start cooling, but after it starts it gets as cold as it should. Seems to do okay while highway driving after it starts cooling. Is this a low refrig problem or do I have bigger issues?

This could be simply normal, I don't see where this F350 lives. I know my E250's at idle and when first engaging A/C seem to take a few minutes reaching full cool temps, never really "cold" at an idle though.

Us Max A/C, see if that helps during start up. Next get the pressures checked by someone who knows their do-do about A/C--you could be a bit low on refrigerant but doesn't sound like it.

Thanks, the low side 44* high side 184 at 82 ambient temp. blowing out around 45* in cab. Thinking the orifice / filter maybe dirty? Compressor giving up the ghost? Here in Texas it's warming up early these days and going to get worst. Thanks again for your help. Going to be looking at you tube for videos to locate the orifice tube.

At 65 MPH after only a mile or so my LAT hovers around 38* in either of my E250's, 5.4 motors both with properly maintained systems. A "hot" day here is 90! :)

At your ambient unless you're at 99% humidity you too should a bit lower LAT's. I'm not too certain but your low side pressure doesn't sound right.

ProjectSho should be along shortly---he's pretty much a genius on A/C pressures, et al. :)
