yet another wheel/tire size question
 

My 2003 f150 is about to stop being a daily driver. It needs 2 rims replaced.

I'd like to put aftermarket rims on at this point. I have a 3" lift on it already. I take it out in the field, and will still drive it in town occasionally (fits better than a super duty in parking spots).

Any recommendations on wheel and tire sizes I can fit? I prefer not to make modifications.

Geez, there are so many options. I've been looking at tirerack for rims.

I plan to buy the actual tires from Firestone (I have them do all my alignments, tire repairs, etc), so whatever size they are, the dueler A/T Revo 2 tires seem good.

Also, I have a 3" suspension lift, not a body lift if it matters.

Let's say I wanted to shoot for 35" tires (a popular size it seems based on my searches). I guess I'd be looking at 17" rims. What sort of offset would I have to look for in that size?

My son went with 33x12.50x17 on his 98. No lift, just cranked the bars a tad. No rubbing, the wheels are 17x9 V-Line, with zero (0) offset if I remember correctly. Should be no problem for your truck.

Did he specifically pick one to have a zero offset?

In terms of looks, this wheel has caught my eye.

It has a 12mm offset, and 5.196" backspacing.

I'm looking at the following tire sizes, and wondering if they would work in conjunction with the rims I linked above

I initially picked the wheel because of the way it looked, although I am concerned with the fact that is painted, and it will chip. I have decided I don't like all black wheels, and I don't like chrome wheels that are going to chip, because they are just coated. This seemed somewhat in the middle, especially since I don't feel strongly about anything other than a dislike for the pure black wheels. I admit some concern that they may look stupid on anything other than a grey vehicle (mine being blue).

The backspacing seemed similar to that of the wheel that the Firestone site recommended in the store (atdonline.com).

I also like the looks of the Ultra Rogue, because it isn't pure black, and strikes me as good looking. However, it seems based on reviews, the center cap is a piece of crap.

Not that it should really matter, but my truck came with 17" rims, as opposed to the standard 16" rims. I think they were the same rims that came on some other higher end vehicles. IIRC, it came because I got the STX package.

Lastly, I do go out in the field a lot, so driving through brush all the time.

I don't really "off road", like I'm climbing rock walls or anything. I'm more concerned about getting stuck in the mud than anything else.

I'm sure I'm overthinking the whole thing, but if I order the rims, and they won't work well with the tires, then it will be annoying. It's not as if I can try them on before I order.
