65 F100 front valance resto question
 

Is the front upper valance panel on a 65 F100 supposed to be blacked out behind the "FORD" letters? When I got my truck the prior owner had removed and sandblasted mine. I have looked at lots of internet pictures of restorations and some are blacked out and some aren't.http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4c1bc3qd.jpg


Here's a picture of some of my parts truck stash. The top valance from a 66 appears to be blacked out the lower 65 one isn't. Which is correct for 65?

On both of mine, the horizontal bars are body color and the vertical bars behind the letters are black.

This is the upper grille panel, it's not a valance panel.

The only 1961/66 trucks that have a valance panel (8188 in pic) are 1961/65 F100/250 4WD & F350/750; 1966 F250 4WD
