My kid left it in neutral when he parked it. Yeah...it rolled.

Lesson learned!

Now you have another father-son project!

harleymsn 04-30-2015 05:03 PM

I don't know so much about the lesson being learned. It's the second time it's happened. The first time it just didn't hit anything.

Too late. He's "technically" an adult. And what's really scary about this is that usually after I bust his chops for doing something stupid, I do something just as stupid in very short order. So I'm just waiting to see what I do. :-/

It could be worse . The damage doesn't look too bad . When my kids screw up they wonder why it takes me an hour or so to address the issue, If I react right away it's not good. Maybe a post-it on the dash as a reminder.

Same. In the end, it's just metal. Sometimes I gotta take a minute.

Sorry about the damage, but it's part of life.....I remember doing stupid stuff like that at that age. Once I ripped the drivers door off of my dads almost new Ford pickup. Backing up with the door open.....
My son has also had a few blunders, it happens.

Looked good on prom night. You know, he didn't get a tattoo, or hurt anyone, or rob a liquor store, or a bunch of stuff that can't be undone. A bunch of that should respond to some hammer/dolly work.

Jolly Roger Joe 04-30-2015 07:52 PM

Wow, that really sucks. :-huh

It won't buff right out, but it could have been a lot worse.

Does your truck have a park brake? Mine will not move when the brake is set. Maybe a good "habit" to teach anyone who drives a stick. :(

Man, that's a bummer! No one got hurt though, gotta try to look at the bright side....

Who was it that did something like this at a Truckstock event? Maybe I shouldn't dredge those memories up.

bobbytnm 04-30-2015 08:42 PM

That's heartbreaking.
I'm sure he's probably punishing himself pretty hard after that.

In the big picture it could have been a lot worse. No one was hurt and the damage isn't terminal. I don't think I'd be in a big hurry to get it fixed. It might do the lad some good to have to drive around with a busted up truck and have to explain to all who ask what happened. (remember, we were all that young once)

On the bright side...the paint is fresh and should be an easy match!
