Engine sputters
Hey everyone, I'm new to the site but have read some threads and the knowledge is awesome. Anyway, I'm Blake and I own a 1960 F500 stakebed with a single barrel straight six four speed. I just replaced plugs, wires, ignition coil, distributor and now it will randomly cough and sputter when driving down the road. My instinct is saying that the delivery system is now in need of some love. So if any of you guys have some pointers and tips, please pass some info on my way.

Welcome to the site. Was it doing it before you made it better?

No it wasn't. Ran like a top. What I did find out, there was plenty of sediment in the tank AND the carburetor was not properly fitted to the intake manifold. Right now I'm getting new fuel hoses and seals then will clean the carburetor then put it back together tomorrow. Will stay posted

Alright! So I found out that the previous owner used gasket maker and an uneven spacer for the carburetor and now that it's fixed it idles great. Next issue is when the brake is depressed the idle bounces. Would that mean that there is air in the line?
