Dually ideas welcome!! (Hell, do we have a dually thread?)
Going to pick this old steed up in the next few days.. Give me some ideas of what ya think.. I'm wanting to drop it(not slam), put a long bed on and 80's dually fenders..

A slight drop and slick paint job, thatd be awesome. Saw that old fast n furious movie the other night with this bowtie on there and had me thinkin. Duuuuaalllllllyy!! https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...8b15a5922f.jpg |
I had wanted to do a Diesel powered, bagged crew cab dualie. Long and low.
|
I saw a 80's sc ford on the highway the other day. Had some kind of funky paint job, like a pace truck. It had daully fenders and super singles, Looked big drag slicks with tread. God awfully ugly lol. That f&f truck is slick!

Check the air on the inside left hand tire!

May as well do that brake stand now seeing as you've got no weight and the right set of tires for it. Get some beefy sway bars on that truck and it will really wake up the handling, the 89 F 350 is a decent bolt in both front and rear. My 78 was a charm in the curves with sways, 7900lb Ferrari LOL. Katy is getting in site of being done and then it's Henry's time, 6 wheelers rule big time and gives you enough size to move rice rockets and puddle jumpers out of the way. Give us a thread FTE.

I heard someone mention it the other day, but I still haven't seen a pickup running "super singles". I drive a flatbed and my company runs them on our trucks but not trailers. I'm not too big of a fan of them on my rig, it narrows the wheelbase, looks funny.

I'm gonna clean up my Wagner and lay some rustoeum on Since it sits so low in the front I figure a 3-4" drop in the rear would be golden..

Ideas? Sure. I'd bring 'er back with a dually bed and fenders but not use dually wheels.
Instead, install single, fat, wide tires like Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros which are favored by the pro street crowd. Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels http://img.tapatalk.com/a6f8484d-be57-baaa.jpg https://i708.photobucket.com/albums/...9/phantom1.jpg |

Another idea....
Instead of just installing dually fenders, widen the entire bed behind the fenders. The widened bedside areas could accommodate auxiliary fuel tanks, an onboard air compressor, auxiliary battery, tool & storage compartments, etc. Also relocate the tail light posts outboard and section to widen the tailgate and rear bumper to be..... w i d e r. Literally, a real "Flareside". |
Ooh, I like it. Lots of fabrication, but cool idea!
