Power Doorlocks
On my 97, I cannot power LOCK the doors from the driver’s door switch. All other functions work okay. Jumping the switch has no effect.
On the wiring diagram the wires from right and left door switches come together at the relay (seems logical). Does anyone know where the relay is located? |
what do you mean jumping the switch?
chances are there is probably a broken wire at the rubber accordion where the wiring enters the body from the door. That's usually the case. measure continuity from every door switch wire to the point after it is already inside the kick panel and you might find it. |
Jumping the switch means using a piece of wire on the switch terminals to do what the switch is suppose to do.
Measure the continuity is what I would like to do. From the switch to the relay. If I knew where the relay is. |
I think what you are after is the Power Door Lock Control Module located at the bottom of the 'B' pillar, driver's side, (below the driver's seatbelt and behind the fuel filler door's pull handle, near the floor, but inside the pillar). The 'B' pillar is covered by the upholstery panel.

that relay is at the bottom of the passenger side 'B' pillar. At least in my 1997 that is where it is.

Hey there how’s everyone today I need some help. I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator for some reason all the power locks and just the driver window stopped working all together at the same time. I can not lock or unlock the locks with the remote or buttons in the truck. All of my windows go up and down except the driver window I’m not sure if this is an electrical issue please help . I checked the fuses and they are good.

This is the Aerostar forum. While there are a lot of knowledgeable members here, they tend toward the Aerostar, not Navigator. You might want to try asking your question on a forum where the members are more likely to have some knowledge of your vehicle:

I don't know if it is the same problem as in the Aerostar minivan but try this:
Grab the rubber neck at the front of the door where it enters the door jamb and gently wiggle it up and down while at the same time and with ignition switch ON, you try to lower the window and lock the doors. If you get a response, with the door locks, you have a wire that is broken inside the rubber neck. if you get no response at all for the window, it could be the window motor. Replacement motors are cheap at O'Reilly's or Autozone. Removal and replacement is a p.i.t.a. but doable. TIP: if replacing the window motor, the window glass must be in the CLOSED / UP position. Good luck! |
