Rear crewcab door electrical problems

I remember reading a thread about this earlier but I don't seem to be able to find it using the search engine. My 95 crew cab has power windows. When I got the truck, the windows were completely inoperative. I removed the old door window motors and found they were inoperative. I installed new window motors and when connected to a battery, they run the rear windows up and down just fine. I also inspected all the wiring in the door itself and found no problems.

However, when I attempt to raise or lower the rear windows via the driver's door switches, I run into problems. Neither window will go down or up on commands. If I attempt to operate the passenger side rear window nothing happens (and no voltage gets to the motor). If I attempt to use the driver's rear window, all the lights dim and the radio shuts off for a second. No significant voltage gets to the motor in this case, nor does the window move. Also, neither rear window switch seems to be operative.

This seems to indicate to me that I have a couple of cuts and a short somewhere. I had read that this was a common problem with crew cabs and that there was a point in the harness after it had entered the cab from the door where this commonly happened. Where is this point, and how do I get access to it? Any other tips would be appreciated.

Yes, where the harness goes from the cab to the door, the wires break from bending at such a hard angle

So how does one access the wiring to make repairs?

Unplug the harness from the cab and the door. The repair the wire where it does not bend

I can figure out where to unplug it from the door. I cannot see how I unplug it from the cab.

This looks like the wiring is at or below floor level - do I get to the wiring from under the cab or by taking off interior panels?

Inside the cab you have to pull the panel loose
