I wasn't going to do this (since this isn't show-and-tell), but I'm just a little bit proud of how it's turning out. I have a ton of pictures of the entire process but I'm too lazy to upload on DSL at the moment. It's also not quite done. I'm at least 125 hours into it and likely have about the same amount of time left not including bodywork and paint. It has about one mile on the odometer so far....... |
Nice looking truck. What year? '75? Seeing this picture reminds me of my first vehicle, 1979 F150. It is currently undergoing a veeeeeeerrrrrrry slowwwwwwwww painting process. Can't wait to have the old girl back.

He went all-out on it. The factory dash is still in there and working. He had to pass the more modern sensors (like speed) through a lot of technology to get the legacy dash to work properly. He was able to squeeze an IC in there, but I'm wondering where he got the shoe horn.

Absolutely no rust and no dents (just holes from the trim and mirrors on that cab) and four little spots from hooks added by a previous owner at each corner on that box. For the most part, I was simply tired of looking at it sitting in the corner of the yard since it had been sitting since 2008. The undercarriage is a 2002 F350 that was rolled I picked up in April. I started this project in October. I've built a few projects over the years but this is the first one I've documented with pictures and the first one that I won't have to regret getting rid of since I kick myself in the ass every day for getting rid of the others. I finally learned my lesson after the first three that went unappreciated and were sold (or given away as I look at it). |

The cruise control works with the period-correct steering wheel, the ESOF works, the hydroboost works, the TCS works, and the ABS would work if I cared to rewire the front sensors (but ABS is ridiculous and I don't want/need it)......AND it has a ratchet shifter. |

I had to do this so I could move the engine forward which would keep me from bashing or modifying the firewall or having to modify the core support. The stock SuperDuty radiator, fan, and shroud all fit too. Yes, it's welded. I just put a thin coat of The Right Stuff on the welds inside and out to make sure that I didn't have to take the pan off again. No pictures of the lengthened pick-up tube though.
