Ford Flatehead 6 226 H Oil Filter Canister Rebuild
I was not able to locate a thread on this so I am not sure if has been covered before, sorry if it has.
I have spare canister that I took completely apart and de-greased. Just wondering if the gasket that sits under the caster and bolts on to the mounting bracket is sold or do I need to make one? Would be nice if there was a kit that sold them all. I plan to lightly sand blast the outside/paint and put all new gaskets. Have any of you done this before?? Thanks |

Thanks for the picture. I am actually looking for the gasket that the canister sits on. I took the complete assembly apart and and I am trying to locate the parts for it (gasket). I will post pics later today.

I think he's referring to the gasket beneath the canister at the mounting bracket. The canister bolts to the mounting bracket from the inside, then the bracket bolts to the block. I have mine apart but have not yet reassembled it. I am not sure if a gasket is available but I saved the one that was in mine in case I need to make one.

Yup that's the one. I guess I will have to make one.
Thanks

I just took mine apart for cleaning as well. The bushing and washer on the center rod, is that below the filter or above it?
