Interested in Dual Battery Setup

Hey Guys, new to the forum and here's my first thread!

So I've got a 2011 Super Crew F-150 5.0 V-8 4x4. I'm setting it up as my long range camping\overlanding rig and I'm interested in a dual battery setup. I'm picked out a wiring harness and isolator and such, so none of that is an issue. What I'm interested in is the actual tray and mounting situation. I've considered the idea of running a deep cycle marine battery in the bed of the truck, but I'd much rather run it under hood, if possible.

Anyone on here run a dual battery setup on their 2009-2014 F-150? Anyone have any tips on mounting, dual battery trays, accessory battery trays, etc?

have the same truck but no room under my hood for another battery. Where would you possibly put it without doing surgery & relocating other parts?

Shortly after I posted this, I stumbled across this thread:

It would seem it's totally possible! I'm hoping I can get some more info on that bracket he's got. It's pretty clever! It would have to be pretty strong, but it would seem it's do-able.

A few people have also suggested mounting under teh frame. With a tough skid-plate that could be a totally valid option, IMO.

And I'm not opposed to doing a little surgery where need-be to make it work.

I like it. There are smaller sized batteries available too. Might make it a little neater looking as well. Although, I couldn't put a second battery in that location with my ecoboost. There is other stuff mounted there.
