Interested in Dual Battery Setup
Hey Guys, new to the forum and here's my first thread!
So I've got a 2011 Super Crew F-150 5.0 V-8 4x4. I'm setting it up as my long range camping\overlanding rig and I'm interested in a dual battery setup. I'm picked out a wiring harness and isolator and such, so none of that is an issue. What I'm interested in is the actual tray and mounting situation. I've considered the idea of running a deep cycle marine battery in the bed of the truck, but I'd much rather run it under hood, if possible. Anyone on here run a dual battery setup on their 2009-2014 F-150? Anyone have any tips on mounting, dual battery trays, accessory battery trays, etc? |
have the same truck but no room under my hood for another battery. Where would you possibly put it without doing surgery & relocating other parts?

Shortly after I posted this, I stumbled across this thread:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ry-set-up.html It would seem it's totally possible! I'm hoping I can get some more info on that bracket he's got. It's pretty clever! It would have to be pretty strong, but it would seem it's do-able. A few people have also suggested mounting under teh frame. With a tough skid-plate that could be a totally valid option, IMO. And I'm not opposed to doing a little surgery where need-be to make it work. |
