I would like to replace the stock cooler on my 1997 F350 dually PSD. I sometimes pull heavy loads and I think I need all the protection I can get. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks

The stock tranny cooler on these rigs is rated at 10000lb gvw. I replaced mine with a Tru-Cool stacked plate unit rated at 28000lb gvw. Hayden also makes a good unit. Get a stacked plate unit, since they're more efficient than a tube and fin style.
Mine was about $85.

Thanks! That sounds like what I am looking for. Should I mount it in the same place or is there someplace better?

I have the BD 12volt fan cooled double stacked cooler. More costly, but works very well indeed. When my temps aproach 190-200 I turn on the fan and in about 4-5 min it goes down. Another great factor is that because it is fan cooled you can mount it anywhere you find room. Mine is located under the passenger seat. Plenty of room and still has good air flow.

Thanks all! I will see what I can find locally and try to cool this thing down.
