Stock rear bumper position ?
 

Can someone help me out with the position of the stock rear bumper. I had a farm pumper and replacing it with a stock one, but I need to make the brackets myself as I am planing to incorporate a tow hook.

But I would need the height from top of frame to top of bumper

and

the axial distance from the end of the frame to the mounting surface of the bumper

Are you sure you want to mount the bumper in the "stock" position? The reason I ask is because most everyone around here has opted for a cleaner look and have mounted the rear bumper with the top edge even with the lower edge of the bed sill and the bumper bar itself located about an inch behind the bed sill. The bracket for this setup is a straight piece of bar stock mounted to the original holes in the frame. Here is a pic...

I more or less centered my bumper on the frame rails. This isn't stock, but stock rear bumpers are getting rare....and expensive.

Regarding stock or not I am not 100% shure yet. It shure looks good tucked up like that but I will be running stock ride height and I am affraid it will show the whole undercarriag.

If will mock it up stock, to start with and see how it looks like. Then maybe I will modify it

Mats, that is a nice looking 56 there. I bet it gets a lot of attention in Sweden. Show some more pictures and some history.

I love the fact he can drive around with a lever action carbine in the back window.

If the '56 is like the '53, there are two bumper positions. High and in, and Low and out.

High and in: the face of the bumper bracket is 7"/17.8cm from the end of the frame, and the centerline of the bumper bolts is 5"/12.7cm below the top of the frame.

Low and out: the face of the bumper bracket is 7.75"/19.7cm from the end of the frame, and the centerline of the bumper bolts is 7"/17.8cm below the top of the frame.

I looked up the sunrise and sunset times on the web in Katterjåkk.

It rises at 10.05 in the morning and sunset is at 13.03 in the afternoon. so the "night" is about 21 hours....

but maybe Mats wants to answere himself, I was just interested in the question aswell....

Yes, Jimmy got it all right. We lives on 68.422 North. It's about the same latitude as northern Alaska. 2 hours of daylight in december and 24 hours daylight in june. Winters are cold but not extreme because we are near the
coast of Norway (15miles) and the Magic Air Heater in the truck works great!!!

That is awesome! I would like to experience the long days of summer sometime.
