1955 F100 transmission question for 292 install
In my 1955 F100 (project), I am putting a 292 from a 1963 F100. Both truck are 3 speed on the column. I want to keep my 3 speed on the column. The Trans from the 63 is longer than the trans from my 55. I would rather not be cutting down the original drive shaft if possible. My question is: "Since it will bolt up, is there any problem with installing the 55 trans on the back of the 63 (292 y-block) and using my original drive shaft? Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated. :-huh

So yes use the 53 trans |
A quick follow up question, if you don't mind. My 1955 trans was mated with a 10" clutch. The 292 has the flywheel drilled for an 11 inch clutch & pressure plate, which I have. Is there any problem with mating the 55 trans with the 11" set up? Thanks again.
