New Leaf Springs Ordered

Well I went to do the leaf spring bushings on the crew cab last thursday.... all the bolts frozen. Went to torch bolt heads off and then the shackle on the rear was basically rusted up, ended up just cutting everything off and ordered new springs and all shackles and hangers 600 bucks from general spring kc supposed to be here monday... hoping for good quality parts will let y'all know how that turns out.

Did you replace the rear spring hangers, the part that is riveted to the frame? I may be interested in one.

I've fought those bushings out of the front and the rear. It is a lot of cursing and hammer swinging.

Keep us updated!

Yea I torched one side off and the other side I used the air hammer, I didn't even take the spring loose from it those bolts though the spring are in there and the 1/2 impact wasn't makin them budge at all that's why I just cut the hangers off and ordered new ones

I'm providing one as a template so a manufacturer of a RSK can also build a rear shackle flip kit.

I understand of you don't want to part with yours, I'll keep looking.

Thanks!

Junior, I'll be placing my order front springs soon. I'm enjoying the B codes I got from you!

Oh its not that I don't want to part with them it's just that I haven't gotten them to separate from the spring j tried the impact and the Sawzall on one and it didn't do any good that's why I ended up cutting them out, I can take another look at it this coming week and see what I can do if I remember

LeoJr 09-28-2014 11:18 AM

Cut the shackle and send the mess to me, let me mess with it? I'll prepay shipping and send you the label.

Are you wanting the front hanger or the rear?

LeoJr 09-28-2014 02:27 PM

The very rear. The one that the shackle bolts to.

1994F2507.3L 09-28-2014 05:45 PM

I could probably hook ya up with one a those yea

LeoJr 09-29-2014 07:15 PM

That would be awesome!

My RSK arrived today. I'll knock all the edges off to my liking and have it powder coated. I'll order the springs this week.

When this is installed I expect my rear to be about an inch low and will be looking to get the rear shackle flip installed.

Thanks, let me know how I can help!
