It's 2" O.D. tube. The main hoop is just under 6 feet long. The cross bar is 32" long. The cross bar is 24 inches plus about half the bend radius on each side or 7 inches. Therefore, 32 inches is about right.
Bends based on a 7-inch radius: Desired project dimensions: Length #1 = 18 inches (angled upright) Angle #1 = 82° Length #2 = 24 inches (crossbar) Angle #2 = 82° Length #3 = 18 inches (angled upright) Calculated straight tube dimensions: Bend Mark #1 = 12.90 inches Angle #1 = 82° Bend Mark #2 = 34.75 inches Angle #2 = 82° Cut Off Mark = 57.70 inches I recommend bending the main hoop first and then the bends at the lower mounts last. They aren't as critical. Therefore, increase the lengths above by enough so the bender has something to hold on to. I figure it'll take at least an 8-foot length of tube. Before releasing the tube, measure the outside spread along the tube where it will be bent back to meet the bumper. The tubing center lines should be about 3.5 to 4 inches more than the measurement between the lower bumper mounting bolts. |

One for a 76-77 rounded face bumper will only bolt up on a 78/79 bumper on the bottom bolts. The top of the bumper brackets are at different angles, but if you get one or the other it can be made to work on either.
Here are the difference with pics and light tab pics. I believe the above post measurements spcs are thanks to HIO or Earthquake68? Thank you HIO for the very 1st pic with measurements. |

Thanks to F250 Super 4x4, here is great info that I feel needed to be saved here.
You will see valve issues on the vacuum gauge. A sticky valve: Vacuum reading that occasionally drops from normal by about 4 inches of mercury. A burnt valve: Will behave the same as a sticky valve, but will drop much more, say 6 inches of mercury (and then return back to normal, in a cycle). Worn valve guides: Vacuum reading that vibrates back and forth between 14 and 19 or so very quickly. Weak valve springs: Rev the engine to say 3000 rpm and see if the needle swings back and forth rapidly. Then raise the revs to 4000 or even 5000 rpm, if your valve springs are weak, you'll see the swinging get wider as revs increase. A vacuum leak: Indicated by a low reading of say 5 inches of mercury or so. Though, a very low reading can be caused by extremely advanced ignition timing or incorrect camshaft timing as well. Headgasket: Floating needle between 5 and 19 inches of mercury. This could also be caused by a intake manifold gasket leak. Really strange behavior such as a vacuum indication that shows a slow movement between various readings could mean a leak in the intake manifold, bad idle air/fuel ratio, or perhaps a clogged PCV system. And thanks to paredneck33 The rear window from 73-96 use the same dimensions, but the 80-96 windows use a thinner glass for the rear window. Also the inner bedsides, at least from 77-96, and will fit the 73-76 trucks as well. The only difference is the inner wheel house on the 73-76 truck are slightly longer then on the 77-96 trucks |
