Off Topic but you guys never let me down. Sema Show?

How do I get in? If I got a part time job at Autozone could I go? Or do you have to be a VIP and get invited?

You have to be legit in the automotive industry, here's the registration for attending: [LINK]

I might actually be able to qualify. I could start a business with my name, then show them my business license and all the receipts for Stinky parts. I could say I build vehicles on the fly.

It worked for DeLorean.

That's what I thought.

And that was a bad link by the way.

I could get you in if you really need a pass. I'm the Editor for the Saleen Club of America and get a "Press Pass" each year even thought I haven't been able to go for several years. You'd just have to pretend to know me and be a part of my "press team" for the SCOA :-X22

I fixed the link... serves me right for not testing it before wandering off.

Whats with all the security at SEMA? They are selling automotive products not Tomahawk Cruise missiles !!:-arrgh You would think they would like to find more customers?:-huh:-huh

I don't know if I call it "security"...their just trying to keep the participants to members of the automotive manufacturers and their distributors/dealers only, not the general public. I work in the A/V & Security industry and it's the same way....we have a few big tradeshows each year that are for the manufacturers & dealers only...not the end users. Its for the mfrs to showcase their new goods and for the dealers to learn, so they can return home and start selling to us...the end users :-) We also have a show that EU's are allowed to attend. I'm guessing the Automotive industry has some of those too, but SEMA is for the Trade only.

Alot of folks never know about a lot of the new products that are available.:-huh You would think that if the person saw these products they would be looking for someone who sold it putting more money in the sellers pocket!:-X22

I agree with you, and to that I blame the dealers/distributors if there are new products that we the end users are not learning about. Like I said, SEMA is a huge Trade-only event but I'm sure there are other Trade Shows that we the public are invited to, to see these same new products.

I've been to SEMA...its the largest show that Vegas hosts and 2-3x larger than any A/V & Security show that I attend. Trust me when I say it is a PACKED HOUSE and there simply is no room for it be to open to the public as well. It would be elbows to a$$-holes not to mention I'm not sure enough hotel rooms exist.
