Core Support - Diesel into a Gasser?

I am replacing the front clip on my '90 F150 with a 351W. The donor vehicle was a similar year range F250 with a diesel. I know that a diesel can't use a gas core support, but can a gas use a diesel one?

If i were you id sell the good diesel support since they're a pricey and hard to find item and buy a gasser one and make some money on the deal

I'd thought about that. I don't know what they're worth for a clean one. The problem is I live on an island and it's either ship it by freight for god knows how much money, or a $50 ferry ride and an all day trip to meet up with somebody that wants it. Of course I guess I could tell them to come to Orcas to get it and I'll buy them a burger at The Tav.

Perhaps I should revise my question. What makes a diesel core support special? Comments I've read indicate that the radiators are different. Is that the case? Or is there something else which prevents a gasser core support being used in a diesel?

The 83-91 truck had a couple different supports.

There are "supercool" trucks that have the large radiator in diesels

Then there are the standard diesels that used the same support as the gassers

Measure both radiators and see what you have

Thanks Brad. I have a repalcement radiator, which may or may not have been from the donor diesel truck. As long as it bolts up to the core support than am I good to go?

Of course that raises another question. If the radiator is from the donor diesel, is there any reason it can't be used in a gasser, assuming that it was an auto?

If the radiator you have fits the "diesel" support then there would be no reason not to use it. And auto or stick makes no difference

Great. Thanks for your help on this.
