Excessive white smoke, backfire.
Pickup starts and runs fin untill about 1,800 rpms then it barrels out white smoke and back fires.
That doesn't sound too good! Check your fuel filter and see if it's all black and oily looking.
Nope fuel filter looks good, full of fuel. Changed the CPS and same symptoms.
Also Injectors and turbo has less then 10,000 miles on them. New fuel filter.
Broken valve spring or burned valve, maybe?
When you say "backfire" is it coming from the exhaust or air intake filter ?
Possibly valve spring or burnt valve. I was racing when it started.
It's coming from the exhaust. Sounds perfectly normal until about 1,800 rpms. When it starts missing at 1,800 and I let off the throttle it sounds normal then climbs to about 2,000 rpms before the rpms drop back down. |
If you were racing when it happened I think I would open up the valve covers and look for a broken rocker or bent pushrod.
