Fasteners
Hello fellow truckers! I'm hoping one of you knowledgeable members could answer a question about fasteners on my F1. I bought the truck after the PO took most of it apart and lost most of the fasteners. I've rebuilt the engine and transmission and now am trying to install it back on the frame. I need to know what bolts to use to attach the pressure plate to the flywheel. The bell housing to engine bolts are missing as well and identification of what to replace them with would be greatly appreciated as well. My 1950 F1 has the flathead and light duty transmission. Thanks in advance.

I'm far from an expert, but I do have this catalog.
1948-56 Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog CD - HiPo Parts Garage I think this is what you are looking for, but hopefully someone smarter will verify for us. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...2c6b25d03e.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...be7417632e.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...574932556f.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...2c4bdbc005.jpg |
Are you talking about a V8 or I6?
|
Thanks Harrier. Jolly Rog, it's the V8 239ci.
|
Looks like to me you need the bolt directly above the highlighted bolt for a 239. It's shorter than the highlighted one. Also IIRC fly wheel bolts have a larger head than a regular bolt.
|
I actually am looking for the ones that hold the pressure plate/clutch to the flywheel instead of flywheel to clutch. Harrier directed me to the parts data which I think is a great resource. I'm getting the CD. Thanks everyone!

"instead of flywheel to crankshaft"! Hate making mistakes!

Realize these are special purpose bolts, don't replace them with general hardware store ones. Flathead parts specialists should be able to supply the right bolts.
