What is this? And why does it sound like it's in respiratory distress?

Now that the truck is running I'm in the process of working through what works and what doesn't. I noticed a gurgling hissing sound while the engine was running. I tracked it down to this silver cylinder on the driver's side of firewall mounted up high. There is a small hole in the side of it and if I cover it with my finger the hissing stops.

That's the Kelvin Pre-Chiller for the Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA and Three Floyds Zombie Dust keg plumbing coming from the back of the truck (where those kegs sit proudly and patiently on ice waiting for some lucky Ford Truck Owner to invite friends over to enjoy good times and cold refreshments)

You know... that sounds like a very plausible description. Is there an aftermarket mod that allows it to brew brown ales instead?

The car capital of the world (Michigan) have a mod for Bell's Best Brown Ale and the west coast car nuts have Anchor (CA) and Standard Brewing (WA) mods as well --- I highly recommend !!!

Despite being from Washington, I think I'll try Bell's Best Brown Ale mod.

But before I do that, is there anybody who knows what this piece is really supposed to be for? Is it original, or some aftermarket thingy?

Actually, 250+ on the uphill grades! On the downhills it actually refines 108 octane fuel into the tank.

Actually, a buddy of mine was over this afternoon and his comment was the same as yours. It's one of those bogus "get super awesome mileage if you install this" thingies.

The rubber hoses are inserted inline of the vacuum hose on the rear passenger side of the engine. The hard line goes to a tee in, I think, the vacuum kick down line from the transmission. It is in one of a pair of chromed hard lines coming up from the area of the transmission. I didn't trace it closely as we were busy hacking about the brakes.

Needless to say, that POS will be removed in the near future.
