Rebuilt engine and 3-speed trans went in nicely.

It has been painted Greenfield Green and will be coming home in a couple of weeks to finish the interior.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...a79407cde4.jpg

Looks great! Is that a new bed? I can't wait to get working on our truck.

I had to buy a new front panel but the rest is original. I can't wait to see the whole thing put together.

You are killin' me with those pics! Especially your grillebars. Is that bed wood what was under the original steel floor?

38 coupe 08-25-2014 05:59 PM

I love how you are restoring the truck back stock. No extra chrome, just an honest truck.

The grille bars are original, they aren't perfect, but I think that adds character. I had 2 sets of original bars and I used the best of the two. That was the original bed wood. I didn't put it back in because I decided to use the bed frame supports that were on the bed floor that I used (much stronger).

Thanks for saying that. My intention from the beginning was to restore it as close to original as possible. I have had so many comments and naysayers about my plan. Nice to have a positive response.
