Your sig says 351M, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the M shared bell housing pattern with the 429/460 as well? Any reason your not considering that engine?

my truck has a 351m, i want to start building a 400 while im driving it. I may go with a 460 but i dont want to revamp my exhaust and anything else comes along. The 351m is not enough, the 400 will do all i want plus not add nose weight. :-X22

I have a couple. One needs rebuilding and one is on a stand with a fresh short block. HV Melling pump, mild RV cam, bored, Clevite 77 bearings. In west Michigan near Muskegon.

I can't imagine the weight being that big a factor, there is only about 150# difference between the 460 and the 400m.

As they say, there is no replacement for displacement........

That's why I buy 30 packs.

Toyman 10-07-2014 06:43 AM

Now if they could just do the 30 packs with the bigger (16oz) pistons in stead of the 12oz ones.....

SDElwood 10-07-2014 10:05 AM

You can get 18 cylinder packs with tall boys... 288 cubic ounce displacement. My 30 cylinder, although smaller pistons displaces 540...

Who knew that Chrysler made a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_A57_multibank for tanks?

That should bolt into a Jeep then, plug and play right?

i drag raced for 28yrs,the last 7 in a pro class, weight is everything to me,150lbs is a lot. A mild built 400 can produce as much tqr as a stock 460, built with the right parts a bit more. Ive had smaller NOS engines putting out more HP than some of my lager C.I. (706ci) NOS engines. Displacement is not always the deciding factor.:-X22

Got a line on a good running 400, cammed, and new Pistons a few years ago. Edelbrock carb.

What's it worth to you? I might be buying the whole bronco
