Slow is smooth, smooth is fast...

We used to say that at group. Brought back memories.

Before:

Soon after I brought Betty home and got her drivable.

Durring:

Yanked this leaky nasty 360 with a dead cylinder and 5 miles of PO wiring.

http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8bed9a8b.jpg

Did a 460 swap back to the stock 4 speed, and some body work. I drove her for a bit like this.

http://i877.photobucket.com/albums/a...psc529d39d.jpg

The only body work I kept in the end was the cab, hood, and the passenger fender. Everthing else was rotten under that nasty primer.

I did a whole mess of work, Hydroboost, axle and driveline swaps, wiring etc. etc. I drove her like this for a good while.

I bit the diesel bug and built this puppy.

Out with the 460 last december.

And how she sits now. With months of work shes almost drivable again.

Co425- That is AMAZING!

Outstanding level of detail. I was drooling all over that 460 then you went cummins! So, how much for the 460 then? I have a 77 that would love a fresh HP and TQ injection!

Thanks.

The 460 is going into my Dad's 1927 Ford tall T. Plus the shipping would kill you.

Agreed! I'm really jealous of all you guys that have a nice shiny paint job.....Come to think of it, I'm jealous of any of you guys that can actually drive your truck :-X04.

co425, I always mean to read through your build thread, but I never get around to it. That thing is clinical. Very impressive

I haven't done a whole lot to mine cosmetically. Did a few things to clean up the appearance when I first got it.

How I bought it. Been sitting on blocks for 10 years

Nice paint on 4x4s is way overrated......

.....Mother Nature's fingernails (tree branches) don't faze me one bit.

Jgavec, was that an original topper?

Truck looks alot better than mine! Saving up for Paint right now.

John R. Thomas 08-08-2014 07:48 PM

Before & After what?

What did you do to that engine? Now it's just another street rod.
Where's the a.c. compressor? Only red-necks sweat. If it's hidden, your not
a red neck.
My 75 had chrome valve covers and and a pie plate air cleaner.
That stuff vanished.

Yep. Deluxe topper, all there just in need of some love. Front portion under the window broke, so I need to glass it back up. That will be one of my projects next summer. Possibly this winter
