no power no smoke
I have a 1990 f250 with a ats turbo. Just replaced ip and injectors from pensacola because metering valve stuck on old pump. Truck ran well on first tank of fuel with no smoke out of exhaust then I noticed what felt like a small intermittent air leak on trip this weekend. Then all the sudden no power when under load and no smoke. I mean 15 mph up hill in second gear 2000rpm holding. The truck only has power at low rpm and not much the more fuel you give it the slower it goes. I can nurse it up to 65 going down hill but its flasher time going up. Im pretty discouraged because ip has about 300 miles on it and it starts and idles well. Checked air filter and fuel return line for blockage already. Any suggestions appreciated

Forgot to mention do have a fuel pressure gauge before ip that is reading 2psi. (has been like that for years) Installed it so I could monitor pressure from electric fuel pump upgrade. Did loose fuel pressure on trip for about 10 miles untill I noticed the problem. New filter also with ip replacement.

unfortunately, this is a common complaint lately with pensicola products. their reputation was once good, but over the past 4-5 years it has gone in the toilet.
the current consensus on most of the diesel specific sites is that they are about the worst there is . |
Thanks thats what I needed to know

i was about to say what Tom did,but he heard something i haven't.that they were once good.a good place to start might be instead your local authorized stanadyne dealer if you've got one near ya;
http://www.stanadyne.com/view.php?id=43 they're going to be around $500-550 average price range rather than the $300-350 from that place in Florida though. |
