Engine Registry

I was thinking the other day that it would be interesting to see what engine(s) most guys where running around with in these trucks. I then got to wondering, now that you have owned your truck for a little, what engine do you wish yours had?

I realize that most people 'needs' for certain engines outweigh their 'wants' for another but play along with me here.

I apologize if this turns into forum dead space, my curiosity made me post this :-X22

I have 1 7.3IDI and 2 460s, I wish I had 3 7.3IDITs.

Is anyone aware of how I can change the poll options so that you can vote more than once?

I think if you edit your original post it should be able to. Just click edit on there.

In this style truck I have 1 302, 2 460s, and 1 351.

In my 88 I love the 302 I have I just wish I had money to build the motor up to where I want it. If I could put some real GT40 heads, a nice Comp cam, and a good timing chain on the 302 I have going in their would make me plenty happy with the power it would make. I don't pull with her other then my bike so I don't want a power house I can just use the other trucks for that.

The 89 F250 I love the 351W and I wouldn't change it ever.

The 89 F350 I again love the 460 but I wish it had a 7.3L powerstroke or 6.0L powerstroke swapped in it.

The 91 F250 I think the 460 was the perfect match for it. Just wish again we had the money to modify it to be even stronger but that would cost quite a bit being it has an early E4OD.

Cool thread idea. Personally I see lots of diversity on here & couldn't make a prediction on who the winner will be.

Where's the option for trucks that no longer have the factory engines?

I was just fixin' to replace my 351 Windsor with a 427 Sideoiler, but then I wouldn't be able to vote on this poll so I chose not to :-roll

any chance a Moderator could add an option of 'something else' and could change the options to allow people to vote more than once? I am having a hard time editing the poll...

With an engine like that, I think it's safe to say a option just for you would be made...

7.5l for me, would like to find a short bed 150 with a 4.9 for a daily driver though.

cjben 08-01-2014 09:48 PM

5.0 for me,would rather have the 5.8

Like all polls its just stupid.

dixie460 08-02-2014 09:23 AM

I wouldn't say it's stupid, just needs a small improvement is all. :-X22

In other trucks in other sections

Like all Byooty posts it's just .........

Keep the poll as it is, should only be engines available in 87-96 trucks. At most an "other" option.

My 92 has the 302. Recently replaced the worn engine with one from a 96. I am perfectly happy with this engine right now. Shorty headers and a low restriction muffler. The only other mod I am going to try now is wrapping the intake to keep the air temps down.
