Guys,

I have walked every roof on every camper made, but I do it with care and on the thinner roofs I step on the stingers, although I have used a sheet of 3/8" if I have to really do work on them. I am 6'0 and weight between 175 and 180. Traditionally the practical limit is 200 pounds, but I am not sure some of the roofs will handle that weight.

Just care and common sense. So far I have never fallen through anything. The thinnest roofs are usually on the entry level towable. If I am doing a lot of work, I always use a real ladder rather than that narrow thing that doubles as a coat rack on the back of most fifth wheels. :)

Just keep looking for bathroom you want. This is why we went gulfstream. A real bathroom.
Weight issue. Depends if you take everything . Keg of beer comes to mind. Depends on time of year. Cold weather clothes weigh a lot
Sat dish it depends on if you currently have one or not. The self sat finding antennas are slick. You just have to have a clear view towards the south southwest to get signal.

I know floor plan is a personal preference, but I don't see the problem with the shower sink bedroom combo. If you are by yourself or just with spouse, that open floor plan really gives you a lot of room. You are basically dual purposing the space. If you don't want to look at the toilet, get one with a water closet.

We spent a lot of time looking at floor plans at RV shows and dealers. We even spent some nights in friends' units. Our first one was budget entry level, and I think Steve's advise on that is right on point. You really can't know for sure what you like in a camper until you use it.

Our main bathroom is a jack and jill. So it has a main door and then one off the bedroom.

It works for us. We leave the bedroom closed all the time and then we can access it at night from there.

All the guest know to use the second bathroom at night which is at the other end of the trailer.

I did look at a teaser yesterday.
Toy Hauler. Way more that I need. But cool layout.

Interesting your choice is with the living room on the upper level where you normally find the master suite.

Nice one...pretty much our size.

about 3200 lbs for the hitch wt though.

just like ours only in reverse. our bedroom is up front.

It's going to be the loan weight that will kill it.
I thought that it was reasonable till I saw I was entering
the term in months and not years. 60 or 72 years sure
beats 60 or 72 months. To make the payment for the term
I want I will have to wait till the truck is paid off to free up
some spending power. Guess used it going to be the market
for me right now. Maybe the cheaper one to start with.

We looked at 2-3 with the LR up front, but didn't really want the size (39 feet up) as even the brand new Montana that I just brought home today could barely make the driveway back in turn off my street.

I looked at several of the Columbus line - the sales guy really didn't seem to like them for some reason - but I do have to admit, do look like a nice line and were priced right.

Keep on looking - though just make sure you really want to start with that long of a trailer

remember that this you can write off the interest on the loan as it qualifies as a second home for IRS rules.

We went to a bank and they went for 15YEARS. payments not bad. Low interest also.:)

Used may be a wise way to start!
