16in wheels / tires

Do any of the wheel vintiques wheels accept the DC bottle cap innie hubcap?

Opinions on a 235/85R16 or 215/85R16 tire on my 64 F100?

That rear flareside fender has a big hole in it, it either needs a lot of tire or it needs to be dropped.

Im not liking the choices that I see for wide tires, the taller narrow tires just seem to look right on these trucks.

I have 3 of the 16 1/2" x 6" rims that are "innies" are you looking for the rims? Or what exactly do you need?

The truck has 15x8 wheels and 255/70R15s all the way around. It steers like crap and the tread sticks out to far. The tires look new but are date coded 2001.

Im trying to figure out the best wheel/tire combo to fill the wheel wells.

Issues Im wrestling with:

1. Do I lower the truck or leave it stock.

2. I think I have 3.10 gears, leave them or install my 2.75s. If I go lower and a short tire, the 2.75s are good, a tall tire the 3.10s are better. 5.0 and AOD, definitely the 3.10s or lower.

3. 15x6 and wide whites, 16x6 and a tall blackwall, TTDs and 235/75R15s all the way around, ???? Hankook has a 235/75R15 with a 5.8in wide tread, that would be great for the front to ease steering.

Im looking for some ideas, nearly all the flareside pics I see are oem with short tires that leave a huge gap in the rear wheel well or they are slammed. I have a pretty steep driveway so slammed is out, 2-3 lower is all I can do in the front, 3-4 in the rear. With the current 255/75R15s I have about a 5in gap in the rear fender.

these are 235/85/16, lower the rpm, steering is a lot easier
do you have 15" wheels?

The 15x8 wheels that are on the truck are sold, as soon as I can get them off they are going to a guy building a C10. These are dual lug pattern wheels.

I have 2 15x6.5 Dodge wheels with 235/75/15s that I am putting on the rear of the 64.

I have another set of 15x6 F150 wheels that I am going to put tires on for the front.

That's what Im going to run for now.

Once I figure out if I am going to lower the truck then I figure out the wheel/tire business.

I like the pre-61 trucks lowered with wide tires, IMO it just doesn't look right on our trucks unless its a full blown custom.

I have a set of 2in drop shackles for the rear. It looks like I may be able to sneak those in without hitting the bed. If so, that's the only drop I will do for now.
